Musician Bio
Currently residing in the Portland Metro area, Annie performs as a featured artist in clubs, concerts and festivals. Her musical repertoire is a montage of originals and standards that cross musical eras and genres, distinguishing her as an appealing performer and a most expressive vocalist.
Vocalist, Annie Averre grew up in the Pacific Northwest. She moved then to the big island of Hawaii and eventually to the east coast (New York, Pennsylvania) with her husband, jazz drummer Dave Averre. Once married, she set her musical career aside for marriage and family, returning to singing professionally after relocating to Portland several years ago.
Annie sings with some of the region’s most notable musicians: pianists Steve Christofferson, Randy Porter, Mike Horsfall, George Mitchell, Gordon Lee, Darin Clendenin, bassists Tim Gilson, Dave Captein, John Wiitala, and Shao Way Wu, guitarists Christopher Woitach, John Stowell and Ben Graves, saxophonists Rob Davis, Warren Rand, David Evans and Lee Wuthenow. Her most recent CD “Among Friends” features eleven original and standard tunes, a project recorded at Heavywood Studios with Randy Porter.
Annie continues to win audiences performing at some of the PNW’s leading jazz venues composing, playing solo guitar gigs, singing with jazz groups, as well as teaching, providing opportunities for students of the performing arts in the Portland/Vancouver area where she lives.
